Personal and Professional Growth

Personal Statement
I believe that education is a key change factor to truly make the world a better place. I am passionate about student learning and supporting student success, and so I have committed to my professional goals to becoming a life long learner who engages in on-going professional training and I also enjoy challenges and setting personal goals. I am dedicated to learn tools and skills that best support teachers, students and parents in order to help them set and reach their own goals. I care about social emotional learning and a spirit of community, and therefore in my perspective an effective school environment is one that focuses on collaboration innovation and engagement among all its community members and stakeholders. It is crucial to acknowledge and adapt to our evolving world and stay alert to best practices from well-respected research to blend it into classrooms and daily learning experiences.
I also believe in hiring talented, knowledgeable and committed staff who work together to create a caring community that is learner-centered. I believe these are core components for moving education forward to inspire responsible, resilient and happy world citizens.
Professional success for me is defined by opportunities to continue being part of an educational community that has these beliefs in common, a desire to continuously improve and grow and find ways that support students and staff to achieve high standards and personal success.

I just finished watching your keynote on Calvin. Wow I loved the metaphor and the message. And also really like your piece (The Handbook to a Successful School During a Pandemic). The idea that we are writing our handbook really resonated with me. Elise Ecoff, (NAE Group Education Director, EXCO) 2021

Hello Miss Jessica,
I just want to thank you for this great opportunity. I really enjoyed the course and I even had the opportunity to meet people from different countries. Now I have my personal challenge of applying what I learned. Talia (Teacher), 2020

Dear Jessica,
I am at the congress right now and I felt really empowered by the last conference. The speaker was from Canada and made me think of you and how you always empower the people around you (me included) Lili (Teacher) 2020

Hi Jessica ,
It's INCREDIBLE to work with you!! I have a really big challenge to work with...with alot of responsibility, but I'm giving my best in this new opportunity I'm receiving. Thank you for your unconditional support and your time in helping me and giving me always a positive feedback, I really appreciate it, you make people feel good!

Jessica,
"I truly enjoyed your conference/workshop because it made me reflect upon the fact that we have difficult conversations every day! They do not necessarily have to be complex issues; simply asking your colleague or family member about something that might make him/her upset, is all by itself a bit too hard..."

With a strong support & leadership that you have, we just need to follow your trail and success is warranted. I am glad you are our principal and that you have evolved with all of us to make of this place a REAL better school.

Hi Jess,
I just wanted to tell you that I really appreciate working with a principal who truly listens to teachers´needs and puts them first. That is something that I´ve seen you do consistently over the past year, and I know it´s not an easy task. Thank you for being so flexible, understanding, and DETERMINED in helping us change our schedules around to better support us in our balanced lit instruction!
And please remember to take good care of yourself during these hectic days! Yoga, a good book, a glass of wine, a peaceful night´s sleep, you deserve it all!
